ABOUT NANO BEY

NANO BEY is an Arctic force of nature—an urban pop/hiphop artist from Alta, Norway, crashing into the global music scene with BravePop, her self-forged genre of fearless storytelling and sonic empowerment. Blending icy northern roots with fiery disco, rock, and hiphop energy, she delivers unapologetic anthems that pulse with raw emotion and cultural pride.

Her debut album SHUT THE NOISE OUT (2023) marked a bold entrance, followed by a wave of genre-bending singles in 2024 including “Love Potion” (and its Sami version), “Die For You,” “Clouds,” and “Cleaning Never Helps.” Inspired by icons like CL, Tina Turner, ROMES, and Nothing But Thieves, NANO BEY channels her Sami and Kven heritage into every beat—with a clear vision of performing BravePop at the Tokyo Dome.

Raised in a creative household—her mother ran Oslo’s legendary ZooLounge art club in the 1990s, and her sister made history in Sami duodji handcraft—NANO BEY grew up balancing traditional Arctic values with a vibrant urban lifestyle. She began performing early, drumming in the alternative rock band VERINENTOTUS, singing in Alta TenSing for six years, and opening the WinterGardenPartyAlta for five consecutive seasons.

Her journey spans continents: from studying Japanese language, culture, and kendo in Tokyo to earning a Bachelor with Honours in Professional Musicianship (Vocals) from BIMM London and Berlin.

Offstage, NANO BEY is a cultural powerhouse. In 2025, she founded and led the first-ever Kven Festival in Alta—a groundbreaking week-long celebration of Kven music, language, and identity. The festival featured concerts, workshops, storytelling sessions, and youth-led cultural activities, creating a vibrant platform for intergenerational exchange and artistic expression. As both organizer and performer, NANO BEY brought together artists, educators, and community leaders to spotlight Kven heritage in a bold, contemporary light.
